Go For The One
“When David went to Ziklag, these were the men of Manasseh who defected to him: Adnah, Jozabad, Jediael, Michael, Jozabad, Elihu and Zillethai, leaders of units of a thousand in Manasseh. They helped David against raiding bands, for all of them were brave warriors, and they were commanders in his army. Day after day men came to help David, until he had a great army, like the army of God.” - 1 Chronicles 12 20-22
What do you notice about this verse? What jumped out at you?:
The following passage reflects on the importance of community. David faced many challenges, but God continually brought him support. Leaders and warriors from Manasseh chose to join him, risking everything to be part of what God was doing through David. Their courage and loyalty grew David’s forces, turning his small band of warriors, into an army that resembled the might of God’s own army.
This passage is a reminder that when we walk in God’s purpose, He provides the right people to stand with us, strengthening us day by day. Although life may seem lonesome at times, know that you are never alone!
The importance of community within a body of believers (in Christ) is so critical to your walk with God. Often times we face many battles in our lives, whether in our businesses, relationships, or personal growth and like David, we may start with little. But as we remain faithful, God sends people and resources to help us. Let this be a reminder to you that God will send the right people to join you in His mission. All we have to do is trust, obey Him, and wait on His perfect timing.
Answer & Reflect on the following question (s):
1.) Are we trusting God to provide the help we need, in all things? Why or why not?
2.) What practical steps can you take to make sure you trust God more and remain bold in your faith, even if you don’t yet see the full picture of a situation?
Speak to the Lord and spend some time in prayer:
Lord, thank You for surrounding us with the people we need in this season of our lives. Help me to recognize and welcome those You’ve sent to support my journey. Just as You provided for David, I trust that You will send the right help for the battles I face. Give me courage to move forward in faith, knowing that You are with me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
