I Got Your Back

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” - Galatians 6:2 (NIV)

What do you notice about this verse? What jumped out at you?:

In this verse, the Apostle Paul encourages believers to support one another in times of need. This reflects the heart of Christs’ command to “love one another. As I have loved you …” - John 13:34 (NIV). When we help carry someone’s burdens, we demonstrate the selfless love Jesus showed us when He died on the cross for our sins.
It is also important to note the significance of having a Godly community to support you. We were never meant to ‘do- life, alone’. As this verse instructs; believers should have a safe-space to share their burdens and not battle sin, temptation, and hardship alone. Let us ‘link-arms’ and be a spiritual and practical support to one another, therefore reflecting Christ through all of our actions.

Answer & Reflect on the following question:

Can you think of someone in your life, who may be struggling right now? A kind word, a prayer, or practical help can lighten their load. Look for ways to serve and encourage others today; whether through a simple act of kindness, prayer, or offering to be ‘a listening ear’. Be the ‘hands and feet’ that reflect Jesus, today!

Speak to the Lord and spend some time in prayer:

Lord, open my eyes to those who need support. Just as Galatians 6:2 teaches us to “carry each other’s burdens”, give me a heart that is willing to help, love, and serve as You have called me to. Help me to be a reflection of Your love in the lives of others. In Jesus name, Amen
