Unshakable Trust

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. - Corinthians 15:58 (NIV)

What do you notice about this verse? What jumped out at you?:

In the following passage the Apostle Paul encourages believers to remain steadfast and immovable in their faith. He reminds them that their efforts and dedication to God’s work have eternal significance.
In a world full of distractions and challenges, it’s easy to grow weary or feel as if our efforts are insignificant. This verse reminds us to keep our eyes on eternity and trust that God values and rewards our obedience. Whether it’s serving in ministry, loving others, or remaining faithful in daily life, our work is meaningful when done for the Lord.
Jesus is the perfect example of what it means to be a “servant-leader”. By definition, a servant-leader is a person who dedicates themselves to “prioritizing the growth and well-being of others”. Jesus exemplified that throughout His ministry by loving His heavenly Father and being obedient to the calling over His life, but also by tangibly showing God’s love to others by serving them. As followers of Christ (Christians), we too should follow in the footsteps of Jesus and live our lives in such a way that tangibly shows our love for God and love for people. Jesus states in Matthew 22:37-39 that the greatest commandant is to “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind’. This is the first and greatest commandant. And the second is like it: ‘Love you neighbor as yourself’”. So today, ask yourself … am I truly obeying God’s greatest commandments?

Answer & Reflect on the following question (s):

Jesus said, the two greatest commandments are to love God and to love people. Look at your life, this week and be honest with yourself … are you showing your love for God and love for people tangibly? If not, ask yourself how you can display love more tangibly? Joining a ministry team here at Redemption Church, being a part of the church’s Community Outreaches, joining a Crew, and Giving, are just a few examples of how you can be involved in being a servant-leader within our church community.

Speak to the Lord and spend some time in prayer:

Lord, thank You for the reminder that my work for You has eternal value. Help me to stand firm and remain faithful, even when I feel discouraged. Let my life glorify You, and may I always remember that my labor in You is not in vain. In Jesus Name, Amen.
